About NANA
About NANA

NANA is the abbreviated name of this project: Initials from Nihon University College of Art, Nihon Buyo and Asian dance. The main aim of NANA is an essential research on the educational and training system of Nihon Buyo from the integrated literary, artistic and scientific approach. With a research on a comparison between Nihon Buyo and traditional Asian dances, we aim to develop and promote exchange between them.

Three Aims Features

The aim of NANA is to combine the three elements; information technology, social infrastructure and international exchange, to further benefits of this research.

Nihon University College of Art has a Nihon Buyo course of studies, which is rare at a university level. With the help of motion-capture equipment, NANA aims to improve students' technique of dancing and to develop the new educational material on Nihon Buyo with 3-D CG technology.

Schedule Chart Project Chart

NANA consists of five teams: Formal education team, social education team, motion-capture and 3-D CG team, web and exhibition team, and international exchange team. The teams keep researching from April 2005 to April 2010.
